We had a nice Christmas, although it didn’t really feel like Christmas. I wasn’t really in the mood for shopping and present-wrapping and decorating this year. Joe and I did enjoy the time we spent with my family though. We went over to my parents’ on Christmas Eve along with my brother and his family. In the morning it was back over to my parents’s for presents and then over to brother’s for more presents, lunch, and games. Then back over to my parents’ in the evening. Today I have off work but unfortunately Joe had to work.
My big present was of course the iPod Nano from Joe (my nephew and brother both got iPod Nanos as well). From my parents I got Full House season two and the Newlyweds final season (I can’t believe they’re getting a divorce!) along with clothes, a duck toilet paper roll holder, and some other things. My brother and his wife gave us a fondue set and a hot drink maker thing which is really neat. We also got gift cards for Borders, Ruby Tuesday, Red Robin, and a movie theatre. From work I got a $50 gift card for Kohl’s, two new company shirts (fleece and denim), and a bonus that was larger than my normal paycheck. The gift cards and bonus were based on hours worked…if only I had worked there all year!
Speaking of work, I had a really enjoyable week there last week (aside from a problem with low potassium but that’s another story). I was working on an admin section and display pages for the one site I’m working on for a client that wants to be able to add, edit, and delete items himself. The goal is to be able to reuse the code for other sites. I’m learning a TON and having a great time doing so. It’s in PHP/mySQL and I discovered that image uploading and resizing isn’t nearly as complicated as I thought it would be.
