Stanley

stanley

My parents miniature schnauzer Stanley thinks that he’s a cat. Their two cats lay on the back of the couch so he has to as well.

Jack and Spencer

Friday night Joe bought me a MicroPet at Target. His name is Jack and he’s a black Halloween cat. He’s really cute. He’ll run, walk, and sing.

Last Sunday night Spencer was helping me study for my Geodynamics test. His reaction was pretty much the same as mine.

phil

phil
This is Punxsutawney Phil, the Beanie Baby. I found him at Borders last Thursday. I had to buy him, of course. Since he’s from Pennyslvania and all.
(you can see Phil live tomorrow morning here)

me
And this was me yesterday.

Also, I won this very cool, pretty, and rare (in the US) beachy cross-stitch.

scanner

I’m loving my new scanner for scanning cross-stitches. Okay, I’m loving my new scanner in general but for that in particular lately. If you care to see, you can look under the Current section of my [cross-stitch] site at the scans for the Butterflies and Nine-Patches ones. I also took an old one out of it’s frame and scanned it (under Finished: Seaside Window). I’m making excellent progress on the Butterflies one. There’s a ton of back-stitching and french knots to do on it once the regular stitching is finished though.
I’ve pretty much decided not to do the Winter into Spring mystery at the Pam Kellogg bulletin boards (I saw a WIP and while it’s really pretty it didn’t interest me that much). I’m definately considering doing the one that starts in May: it’s called Strawberry Fields and sounds like it would be really great.

Now that my first week of the semester is over, I’ll be making an entry about it at DR soon. I have a 4 day weekend this weekend since we have off Monday and I always have off Tuesdays.

engagement ring

engagement ring

This is my engagement ring, in person. We stopped at the mall tonight because Joe wanted to get a Game Boy Advance SP. While we were there, I wanted to stop in at Kays to see what time we could pick the ring up tomorrow (the mall closes early tomorrow). The girl who helped us before was working there and remembered us. She said the ring might have come in already since some other ones did. She look and it had! I tried it on and it seemed to fit all right then.

Later on that night, probably around 9, I came back into my room after going out to the kitchen to get some food. Joe walked me over to my bed and sat me down and then got down on one knee. He said very wonderful romantic things and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I said yes, of course.

After having the ring on for a few minutes I realized it was rather big. I had my finger sized at the jewelry store and they determined it to be 5.5 but I think it’s more of a 5. The ring kept really sliding around on my finger. I’m not going to get it resized again till after we get back from Missouri. I want to be able to show his family. It takes 7-10 days to get it resized. For now I put some adhesive bandage artfully on the inside of the back of band to make it a little smaller. It fits fine now, but of course I don’t want to have adhesive in it forever.

I’m very excited…Joe and I had been talking about marriage on and off since we met. And now we’re finally offically engaged.

christmas tree

christmas tree

My parent’s christmas tree, which my mom and I just decorated. It’s all homemade ornaments this year, including my nifty christmyth cross-stitch ornaments. I had also made the star tree topper about 8 years ago along with various beaded ornaments on it. Mom and Cassie (my niece) made the paper chain. Some of the dough and gingerbread ornaments were made by my cousin April, before she passed away.
