Twitter

I don’t think I really like Twitter. I only check it a few times a week and don’t look forward to doing so. It’s just…confusing…and not very interesting. I love knowing what my friends are doing/thinking. I even love “Things I Did Today” type weblog/journal entries. But one at a time, mixed in with a whole bunch of other people…not so nice.

I could just not check it, but sometimes people post important or interesting things and I don’t want to miss them.

Deception?

I discovered today that the writer of the Circle of Three books (young adult Wicca series) is not a woman named Isobel Bird…but a guy named Michael Thomas Ford. That just disturbs me. Not that they were written by a man. But why did they want to hide the fact? Is it because he was “a gay American author of primarily gay-themed literature”?

I’m not sure what to think of all this.

Thanksgiving

Today we went over to my brother’s house as usual. My parents and his family were also there (his wife, daughter, and son). We had the usual turkey and ham, plus side dishes.

Afterward we played Catch Phrase and two Christmas trivia games. It was a pretty fun time. I haven’t been feeling that well the past few days (feel like I might be coming down with something). I’ll be at work tomorrow and fortunately don’t have to drive near any malls (I never go shopping on Black Friday).

Anxious for WordPress 2.7

I’m looking forward to the next WordPress release at the end of the month. It’s yet another new admin design, but I like this one a whole lot better than the one in 2.5. There’s also going to be threaded comments, which is something else I’m really looking forward to. I haven’t used a threaded comments plugin for several years, but I always liked that feature.

I still need to do some work on this site. I want to move my photos over here from fuzzydoodles and cut down on the amount of the amount of them. The same goes for my artwork.

I also want to make a new layout. A lot more clean looking one. I have an idea in my mind of how I want it to look. All these patterns just aren’t me.

Aunt’s Birthday Party

Tonight was my aunt’s suprise 50th birthday party. It was at a local restaurant. There were a good number of people there, including family and her co-workers.

They served a buffet-style dinner. There was appetizers of cheese and veggies with dip. Then salad, pasta salad, spagetti and meatballs, and chicken parmasean. It was pretty good, although neither of those dishes are ones I normally eat. Afterwards was a cake with both white and chocolate layers.

My parents, brother’s family and Joe and I all went in for a lottery ticket tree. It was a money-tree thing and we put 50 lottery tickets on it.

My Birthday

Today I turned 29. One more year to 30…wow.

Last night I didn’t get to bed till almost 6(!) am. We started a Kara run at 1:30 am and it took until 5 am. Way longer than Joe and I expected, since the last time only took an hour and a half. But I got some new gear which is cool.

I got out of bed around 2:30 pm today. We went out to eat with my parents at 4:30 at Bumper Bobs (seafood restaurant). I had Alaskan snow crab legs, a salad with ranch, and steak fries. We had a bloomin’ onion with crab dip as an appetizer. It was all pretty good but not fabulous.

Later tonight we’ll be going to a midnight release of the new World of Warcraft expansion. I’m looking forward to my new frostworm pet with my collector’s edition. I think this is the first collector’s edition of a game that I bought since I bought the Everquest II one when it first came out (baby dragon house pet!).
