publish 10

So Publish 10 came out today in SWG. This is the addition of the new Jedi quests. And the new force status command to see if you’re “glowy”. Joe and I both have “You feel a surge in the force”. There’s another step in between that and glowy. We both need three more content badges.

Remember how I posted the other day about the auto-pull slicing tools from crates bug? They had said they would fix it before the publish was live. Guess what? They didn’t. Apparently they also re-broke bounty hunter droids. And not to mention the server lags. No one has been able to log into my server for the past three+ hours. They’re supposed to be doing a reboot right now. There were out of control spawns at several locations. Many people died because of this and you know, when you die and you’re not insured your things decay.

It’s just all so annoying. Aren’t you supposed to play games for fun and relaxation? Not to become annoyed?

Not that the game is usually annoying. I usually love it. It’s just frustrating that they overlook “unimportant” things and only seem to care about things like Jedis sometime. Not that there aren’t plenty of complaints about the new Jedi revamp…

Time for more SWG screenshots (inspired by Krissy)

Joe and I. I visited an image designer this past weekend and got a new hairstyle

I got stuck in a rock while on my speederbike swoop. I got off the swoop and could only get back on after I stored it.

SWG

More Star Wars Galaxies talk.

Last night Joe and I were up till almost 7 am doing The Warren themepark on Dantooine. This was only semi-planned. We planned on doing that after he got off work yesterday with two of his friends from there. I figured we’d be done in time for our usual bedtime of 4:30/5 am. Joe and I were ready to go by 3 am. But by the time his friends got home, got online, got body and mind buffed, and were ready it was 4 am. We went anyway. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Joe did die once and had to be cloned because he took on too many guys with stun batons by himself, but otherwise it was fine. The only bad thing was that my buffs ran out before we completed it so I was very paranoid about getting hit. And also the fact that we were trying to find out way out around 6:30 and were worried about getting caught in there during the server reboot at 7. I also didn’t appreciate it that it was almost completely light out by the time we went to bed. I ended up not being able to fall asleep till after 8 for some reason and then slept until 5. I was disturbed when I had the thought upon waking that most people work from 8-5…and that I had just slept from 8-5.

We got two badges out of it at least.

Reading the Professions forums on the SWG boards can be a little depressing. Pretty much every profession has a thread of “things that have to be fixed”. And you know, the devs don’t fix anything. Something on the Smuggler board particularly annoyed me. As of now you can autopull slicing tools from crates. So on the test center for publish 10 for no reason they took away the ability to autopull any smuggler tool from crates. They said later that it was some change in code elsewhere that caused it to happen and that they’d fix it…but who knows if they will? That will be a huge pain if they don’t change it. You need three things to slice a weapon or armor: a laser precision knife with at least 2 charges, a molecular clamp, and an upgrade kit. Plus the item. If you’re doing a suit of armor, it would be very easy to run out of room in your inventory if you try to pull it all out ahead of time. Plus a lot of people slice in bulk for weapon or armorsmith. It just adds useless time wasted. It wasn’t broken so why do that instead of fix something that was broken? Like our skill tree documentation.

It’s just so frustrating that so many professions have so many problems.

frustrated

I feel frustrated because I don’t want to do anything. Actually, I want to do things, I just don’t have the motivation. Working on anything that involves thinking (such as websites or job hunting or resume updating) is out of the question because of a headache I’ve had all evening. So I’ve been wasting time all night, playing SWG or browsing websites. I like doing both activities, but I don’t like doing them when I don’t really feel like doing that. I really hope I break out of this funk soon. I don’t feel like cross-stitching or anything lately either.

In Star Wars Galaxies I’m working towards Master Smuggler. So far I’m 0/3/1/2. I think slicing is fun and that it’s really cool you can slice mission terminals for higher payouts. I’m going about it the grinding way (rather than the spamming way, I suppose). I buy crates of pistols and slice them. But I’m out of money and need to go fight some missions tonight with Joe so I can buy more supplies. After I slice the terminal of course. Spices is also kind of tedious to level up. Spices are pretty useless compared to doctor buffs and so on and the only kind people actually use are the kind you can make after level IV. So basically it’s just making over 400 pointless spices to get the spices tree.

I’m also working on Master Creature Handler, although right now it’s kind of a side job. I’ll probably concentrate more on it after I get Master Smuggler (or get tired of working towards it). I did tame my first baby today, a lesser dewback. I’ll probably use my remaining skill points on the Pistoleer tree.

star wars galaxies

I’ve been playing Star Wars Galaxies with Joe a lot lately. He very nicely bought me the game the other week, surprising me with it (I had wanted it, of course). Right now we’re playing mainly on the Wanderhome server. He’s a Master Doctor. I’m still trying to decide what I want to be. I might dabble in Creature Handling a little. I’d like to be a Bounty Hunter or a Commando, but you need so much combat experience. Maybe I’ll start with Pistoleer. I’m already over a fourth of the way there. Right now I’m working on getting Master Markman. I’m 2/4/3/3 right now. Working on getting Carbine 4. I’m 3/4 of the way to that and 3/4 of the way to Ranged Support 4. I got a really good carbine from a friend of Joe’s friend the other night. I have no apprentice points though…I hope they don’t take too long to get.

I’m anxious for Joe to get home so we can play. I tried playing a little by myself earlier today, but I can’t take on as big of things on my own. I also felt kinda nervous playing by myself :) Still not completly used to the game.

And now for some screenshots:

pokemon

I have turned into a Pokemon addict and I’ve turned Joe into one as well. I’ve always liked Pokemon but I never got to play the game really until now. I got Pokemon Ruby for Christmas and that was the first Pokemon gave I’ve owned. I’ve played it for 9.5 hours so far since Christmas. Joe decided he wanted to get Pokemon Sapphire so we can battle and trade.
I went out and bought the strategy guide the day after Christmas. I really want to catch a Skitty, but haven’t seen one yet. It said in the guide to check the TV to see when they’re in season but they haven’t been in season yet.
When we were at the store yesterday I saw they had Pokemon Crystal used for sale. I had looked for it a few other places and online. It was $19.99 there which was a little less than it was going for online (plus then you have to pay shipping). They also had the perfect guide to it for $6.99 which I bought too. I traded in Gauntlet Dark Legacy for PS2 (I love that game but Joe and I beat it already together and there’s not too much replay value) and got $8.00 for it so I only ended up paying $18 something for both the game and guide. Very good deal, I thought.
So now I have another Pokemon game to play after I finish Ruby.
