What was your best gift-giving experience? What was the best gift you’ve ever gotten?

The best gift I’ve ever gotten was my digital camera, a Powershot S100 Digital Elph . I got it for Christmas in 2000. It was a combination gift from my mother, grandmother and Brad (these things cost about $500 back then). It was probably my most expensive gift from anyone ever, but that’s not why I liked it so much. I just love this little camera.
The gift I treasure most is the necklace April got me the Christmas before she passed away. There’s nothing special about it itself, it has a silver chain and Fimo beads on it. But it was a really cool and pretty necklace and I wore it for awhile after I got it, but then stopped because I was afraid of losing or breaking it.
My best gift giving experience was probably last year for Joe’s Christmas and birthday gifts. I made him a website and bought our domain, cindandjoey.com, plus buying him various things that he really liked. The gifts he got me were wonderful as well, especially the claddagh ring.

What was your worst gift-giving experience? What was the worst gift you’ve ever gotten?

I’m not really sure on either…I never had a bad gift-giving experience. As far as I know, everyone always loved my gifts. I never got any horrible gifts, although I know as a kid I was always more thrilled with toys than with the inevitable nightgown and socks. Now though I’d appreciate clothes…the only time I’ve really gotten new clothes in the past year or two was at Christmas. I don’t have a lot of extra money lately and when I do, clothes aren’t near the top of my list of things I want to buy. (Books, cross-stitch, and electronic stuff top that list).

Of those who give you gifts, Whose Christmas gift do you usually end up returning? Why?

I almost never return gifts. Even if I don’t like it, I keep it. Even if it’s a duplicate, I keep it. I don’t know why, I’d just feel bad returning a gift.

Have you ever experienced a white Christmas? If so, when/where? If not, do you wish you had? Why?

I’ve experienced several white Christmases living here in Pennsylvania. I have to say though, I’ve experienced more non-white than white. Last year was a white Christmas though, almost too white. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to drive over to my brother’s or not. White Christmases are nice, but not very nice if it’s snowing or icy Christmas day and you have to drive.

What do you do for your pets for Christmas? If you don’t have a pet, what kind of pet would you like for Christmas?

Well, Spencer has his own stocking of course. Ash (the ferret) doesn’t. We always get our pets gifts. We usually let the dog “unwrap” his presents himself. They’re usually bones or other dog toys. We get the cats mice or other catnip toys. Snickers isn’t really too into toys, but Poe loves little mice. Spencer only likes toys if they have catnip in them. The ferret usually gets treats or something little that he can add to his collection of things in the corner under my bed.

I know you bake for Christmas, or know someone who bakes FOR you. What’s your favorite baked Christmas item?

My favorite baked Christmas items are sand tart cookies. I love them. They’re like really flat sugar cookies that you cut out and decorate with sugar sprinkles. We have all sorts of cookie cutters. My favorite is a duck one.
