Gastroenterologist

My first visit yesterday went pretty well. He doesn’t know yet what could be causing the high liver enzymes, but he thinks that whatever is wrong with me is probably multi-system. They took a lot of blood (including to test for hepatitis and Celiac disease), and I have to go for an abdominal ultrasound. He wants me to have some scope work done (bah) but doesn’t want to do that until they (the cardiologists) have my heart rate under control and know why my heart is functioning less than normal. So I started taking the metopropol that the cardiologist had prescribed me. I hadn’t taken it before now because I was having all those problems with nausea at the time and the high liver enzymes. The other time I was on a beta blocker, I didn’t like it and it didn’t do anything for me. But we’ll see if this one actually brings my heart rate down. The cardiologist’s office never called me about scheduling an appointment so I don’t know what’s up with that. I guess if they don’t call in the beginning of next week, I’ll have to call them. So far the beta blocker has made it more difficult than usual to fall asleep last night and made me dizzy today. Some of that is supposed to go away after you adjust to them so we’ll see.
