ReviewMe.com

I signed up for reviewme.com tonight. Basically, advertisers pay them to have you post reviews of them on your site and you get paid 50% of it. You can accept or reject any review offers and the reviews don’t have to be positive (although they do have to be at least 200 words long). I think it’s an interesting concept, but I don’t expect to make much from it, if anything at all. Maybe if I had a more specialized blog, where I talked about something other than myself.

There are already a zillion web design blogs out there so I’m not going to go that route. I think though that if you had a blog on a unique, unusual topic (and had a lot of readers) you could make a decent amount of money through this. You can make anywhere from $20 – $200 per review. It’s based on your site’s rankings, which are taken from alexa, technoriati, and estimated number of RSS readers. I’m in the lowest bracket, $20, which I expected since I don’t have a huge amount of readers.

So if anyone is interested, you should go ahead and sign up. Right now, until they’ve paid $25K’s worth, they’re having reviewers review reviewme.com. Which means they’re paying me to write this entry. It doesn’t cost anything to join. You’re paid on the first of the month, by check or paypal. So it can’t hurt anything to sign up.
