DLPA

I’ve been taking DLPA since the end of November. I took three 500 mg pills in the morning, every day. I was getting low, so I decided to go off them. I took two for about a week, then one for about a week, till I ran out Wednesday. There’s not supposed to be withdrawal symptoms, I was just trying to stretch them out. There’s supposed to be a cumulative effect on them, so I wasn’t expecting any major changes when I first went off them.

I don’t know if I can attribute what’s been happening the past few days to my body to being off them, but I’m going to go get some more tonight when Joe gets off work. On Thursday, I felt fine up until 11 pm. My body started to ache then. Randomly. My legs would hurt, then my back, then my arms and my butt, then all of them together, etc. Kind of like the body aches you feel when you the flu, but not exactly the same. I finally had to stop playing EQII around 12:30 and just went to bed. Friday I was fine until 9ish. Then my body started hurting again. Joe and I watched Ella Enchanted on the couch while I laid down and cross-stitched. My pain went pretty much away. I went to bed at 1:30, but I couldn’t fall asleep till about 3. I woke up around 5 in pain. It was worse than before and I couldn’t fall back asleep. I finally took two prescription painkillers I had laying around, but I still couldn’t sleep and they hadn’t kicked in yet. Then Akasha came and laid on my stomach. I fell asleep a few minutes after that. I told Joe this morning she was a magical cat. I woke up a few hours later and the pain was gone, but I had trouble falling back sleep (this was at 7:30 am). I drifted in and out of sleep until I got up at 12. I was starting to feel pain again and I had no idea how I was going to manage to finish my homework today. Around 1 I gave in and took another painkiller (just one) and it kicked in about a half hour later. Right now I’m feeling good (in more ways than one). I can’t just keep taking painkillers though, so I’m going to see if taking DLPA helps again.

One other odd thing is that last night when the pain started, I was having trouble breathing. Whenever I took more than a shallow breath, I had pain in my throat. Not normal sore throat pain either. I never had anything like that happen. It was kind of scary. That went away along with the pain after taking the painkillers and falling asleep with Akasha on me.

Now I have to try and get the rest of my work finished.
